You've likely spotted countless whimsical dresses and beautiful beachwear pieces by fashion's favourite Australian brand on your Instagram feed and TikTok FYP over recent months, but did you know that Zimmermann is also behind some of the industry's most epic statement jewellery?
We must admit that it took a while for us to tear our focus from the clothes making their way down the Parisian runway back in March, but once we did it would've been impossible to miss the bold, gold earrings, the angular cuffs, the draped necklaces hanging down a model's back and the crystal quartz chandeliers hanging from another's ears.
In fact, if the ready-to-wear collection wasn't so strong you'd be forgiven for thinking that sisters - and co-founders - Nicky and Simone Zimmermann were heading up a jewellery label, so impressive is next season's accessory offering.
You might need a couple of weeks to mentally prep for some of these anyway…
“For fall I was inspired by the artwork of Rupert Bunny, an Australian artist from the turn of the last century,” Nicky says of the new season accessories.
“I was drawn to his use of colour and the romanticism of his work - the gentle and dreamy lifestyle scenes. There is a glow, warmth and optimism to his work that is really appealing to me.”
Designing the demi-fine collection in two parts, Form and Light, there is a partnership of aesthetics at play here, much like in the brand itself; drawing on both women's individual visions and combining them in powerful synergy.
Form instills beauty in the every day, a collection of bold, sculptural gold pieces “drawn out into long silhouettes to create gestural points to evoke the static lines of the impressionist movement”, while Light is an altogether more extravagant affair - using raw and cut rock crystal mixed with iridescent opalite, drawing on the French bourgeoisie and pulling inspiration from “motifs of ornate cut crystal, delicate chandeliers and the appreciation of light as an impressionist artist.”
Of course, with Zimmermann's ready-to-wear offering selling those iconic dresses upwards of the £1,000 mark you'd be forgiven for thinking that an equally breathtaking accessory offering might require a similarly healthy budget, but that's not the case.
Sitting pretty far below four figures, with prices starting at £125, Zimmermann's jewellery offering is a whole lot more affordable than you might expect. Sure it's still not something you splash out on weekly, but with such timeless luxury there's no need for frequent purchasing.
After all the wisest buys are the ones you need never repeat, aren't they?
