Zendaya is one of our favourite chameleons when it comes to changing up her hairstyles. Sometimes she appears with waist-length waves and curls, then with sleek midi hair – and now she's just served up a new bob. Of course, the bob itself is nothing new. But Zendaya knows how to give every look a fresh twist.
Our girl has experience, having presented countless bob renditions over the years. Case in point: the glam '90s bob and the lob. So it's no wonder that in a new video posted on Instagram, she's given us another (retro) look that we haven't seen in a while: the flicky bob.
In the post, Zendaya's hair was softly centre-parted, while the ends – which finished above her shoulders – flicked outwards.

Her roots looked gently misted with water, which makes sense since the post was part of an ad campaign for the company Smart Water. Has outfit for the occasion was on point, too, with a white wet-look, off-the-shoulder, draped, cut-out dress that looked like it had been semi-soaked in H2O. In the video Zendaya asks: “What if the plan is to not have a plan? Refreshing,” while the caption added the pun: “When was the last time you stopped and soaked it all in?”

But this wasn't the first time Zendaya called on the flicky bob hairstyle. She previously wore a longer, softer version of the look, paired with an all pink suit at the Valentino show last March. However we love to see her latest spin.
Here's how you can perfect yours...
How to recreate Zendaya's ‘flicky bob’
The good news is, the hairstyle is much more about the styling than the cut, so you can tap into the trend immediately. And – as Z showed – it works on longer lengths, too. To recreate the Zendaya flicky bob, you should first dry and straighten your washed hair. Then you can twist the ends into the tips with a curling iron or straightener. Be sure to use heat protection beforehand, so as not to stress the ends and prevent split ends. Easy.
