Sex Education will soon be on our Netflix screen for its fourth and final season, and we cannot wait to see the rest of Otis, Eric, Maeve and co's high school journey.
If you haven't been following along on tenterhooks, the final instalment of the British teen comedy-drama will pick up following the end of season three's closure of Moordale Secondary due to lack of funding with everyone embarrassing themselves and going through a series of awkward encounters as they attempt to fit in at Cavendish Sixth Form College. Meanwhile, Maeve tries to find her feet thousands of miles away while living the American dream.
The official synopsis from Netflix reads: "Following the closure of Moordale Secondary, Otis and Eric now face a new frontier—their first day at Cavendish Sixth Form College. Otis is nervous about setting up his new clinic, while Eric is praying they won't be losers again. But Cavendish is a culture shock for all the Moordale students—they thought they were progressive but this new college is another level. There's daily yoga in the communal garden, a strong sustainability vibe and a group of kids who are popular for being…kind?!"
It's added: "Viv is totally thrown by the college's student-led, non-competitive approach, while Jackson is still struggling to get over Cal. Aimee tries something new by taking an Art A Level, and Adam grapples with whether mainstream education is for him. Over in the U.S., Maeve is living her dream at the prestigious Wallace University, being taught by cult author Thomas Molloy. Otis is pining after her while adjusting to not being an only child at home or the only therapist on campus."
The last season of Sex Education will no doubt be bittersweet, but it's something that has been a long time coming now, with Eric actor Ncuti admitting that the cast had "outgrown" the series, and we're on to bigger and better things.
So, if you're looking forward to one last Sex Education hurrah, join us as we fill you in on the ultimate Sex Education cast guide for season 4.
Asa Butterfield as Otis Milburn and Gillian Anderson as Dr Jean Milburn
As the lead character in Sex Education, Otis' journey in opening up a sex clinic is explored after he began taking advantage of growing up with a sex therapist mother Dr Jean Milburn, and dishing out intimate sex advice to his fellow high-schoolers. He has always had an on/off romance with Maeve, but with her being so far away in America for season four, what will happen to the bond between them? Meanwhile, Otis and Jean will also be looking after an adorable new addition to the family...
Emma Mackey as Maeve Wiley
Against all odds, Maeve Wiley has done well for herself, especially in school. And during season four, viewers will see how she fares while pursuing her further studies in America. Will she make full use of this incredible opportunity, or will her heart long for someone back home...
Samantha Spiro [right] as Maureen Groff
We've been so pleased to see Maureen Groff find her voice and rediscover life's joys following her separation from Michael. Live your best life, Maureen!
Ncuti Gatwa as Eric Effiong
Eric is Otis' BFF, who will join him as they attempt to settle in at their new school, Cavendish Sixth Form College. Along the way, Eric has had some inspiring storylines, including proudly coming out to his devoutly religious Nigerian family. His witty one-liners and ability to smile through rain and sunshine have made him a fan favourite.
Thaddea Graham
Northern Irish actress Thaddea Graham has joined the cast for season four. Little is known about her character.
Jodie Turner-Smith
As one of the most famous new faces joineing Sex Education, Jodie Turner-Smith has definitely had tongues wagging with her role, which we don't have much info on yet!
Connor Swindells as Adam Gross and Alistair Petrie as Michael Groff
Judging from early pictures from the new season, Adam Groff, the jock who has struggled with his education and has been known for getting up to no good as the school's main bully, will be having a meaningful conversation with his constantly hard-to-please father, Michael, AKA, Moordale Secondary's principal. We hope they hash it out, and Michael can let go of any expectations surrounding his son and just be genuinely proud of him.
Kedar Williams-Stirling as Jackson Marchetti and Chinenye Ezeudu as Vivienne Odusanya
As Moordale's star swimmer, Jackson also briefly dated Maeve. However, soon, things came crashing down as he lost the coveted position of Head Boy. However, things soon got back on track for Jackson as he began developing a strong bond with the school's new non-binary student, Cal.
Meanwhile, Vivienne Odusanya is introduced to us as one of the most gifted students at Moordale. We see her trying to find a boyfriend online before getting jealous of Jackson's bond with Cal.
Mimi Keene as Ruby Matthews
The Queen Bee of The Untouchables, Ruby is fiery, cold, and oh so mean. However, she soon enters into an unlikely relationship with Otis. However, while the relationship doesn't stand the test of time, it shows viewers a softer of Ruby.
George Robinson as Isaac Goodwin
As a neighbour to Maeve at the caravan park where she lives, Isaac has always had a soft spot for her. While they dabble in a brief romance, Maeve moving to America means their relationship would have never stood the test of time.
Dua Saleh as Cal Bowman
Non-binary Cal is a new student at Moordale who develops a bond with Jackson, but tensions develop as Jackson struggles with Cal's gender identity. We hope to see more of Cal in season 4.
Marie Reuther
Marie Reuther is one of season four's newest recruits. Little is known about the Danish actress' role.
Dan Levy as Mr. Molloy
In season four, Dan Levy will be taking on the role of Thomas Molloy, Ivy League tutor of Maeve Wiley, whose impressive educational abilities have allowed her to study abroad in America.
Aimee Lou Wood as Aimee Gibbs
As part of The Untouchables, the school's popular girl group, Aimee has an unlikely friendship with edgy cool girl Maeve. She is wholesome, bubbly, with dreams of becoming a baker when she leaves school. In the recent season, viewers saw Aimee work through her trauma of getting sexually assaulted on the bus on her way to school.
Felix Mufti, Anthony Lexa, Alexandra James and Imani Yahshua will also join the cast for the fourth season.
Sex Education season four will land on Netflix on 21 September.
