“I like the fact that these are lab-grown diamonds,” admitted Pamela, “and knowing the jewellery is crafted from recycled silver and gold makes me feel good about wearing it. It is actually the more radical, kind-of-glamorous move.”

Of course, when brands tackle the big issues of sustainability and ethical processes it often comes with huge financial implications which then, inevitably, filter down to the customer. In an unusual - and very welcome - turn of events, lab-grown diamonds are in fact much more affordable than their natural counterparts.

Starting at £225 - by no means 'cheap' but, of course, a mere fraction of the price of natural diamonds - each diamond ranges from 0.15 to 1.75 carats with I colour and VS2+ clarity across all carat weights, and are set in yellow gold, white gold and sterling silver across rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets.

“The next chapter of Pandora Lab-Grown Diamonds is brought to life with the ‘Diamonds For All’ campaign and its cast that helps us re-imagine diamond traditions,” said Mary Carmen Gasco-Buisson, Pandora's CMO, of the launch. “Our diamonds are not for the few, for a once-in-a-lifetime occasion, or only for giving. They represent personal meaning that each of us can create.”

Launching on August 31st, Pandora's next major step in democratising diamonds will be available to shop online and in select stores.

As Benjamin Barry would say, "Ladies, frost yourselves".
