Earlier reports about Kourtney Kardashian, who is currently pregnant with her fourth child, being “briefly hospitalised” skated over the severity of the situation: her unborn baby required surgery.
Kardashian, who is preparing to welcome a son with husband Travis Barker, revealed on Instagram on September 6 that her hospital stay saved her baby's life, and reflected on the unexpected level of fear she experienced given that her previous pregnancies—she shares Reign, Penelope, and Mason with ex Scott Disick—were relatively easy.
“I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life. I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this,” she wrote alongside a black and white picture of her and Barker's hands holding onto each other in the hospital.

“As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant. Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing. 🙏🏼🤍,” she added, a sentiment which Barker echoed in the comments, writing, “God is great 🙏🏼.”
When Kourtney Kardashian was rushed to the hospital, Barker abruptly postponed his tour dates in Scotland and Ireland; previous reports stated the couple are both “back home” (Southern California) with their kids. Kardashian is speculated to be due later this fall. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a healthy rest of your pregnancy, Kourt!
