You can’t talk about celebrities wearing Khaite - the cult New York label designed by Catherine Holstein - without mentioning Katie Holmes’ cashmere bra-digan Moment in 2019. It was one of the most standout celebrity street style looks ever.
From that viral paparazzi shot, we started to spot every A Lister choose Khaite for their everyday lewks (and red carpet moments) and the fashion pack’s favourite under-the-radar NY brand began to go global.
You might need a couple of weeks to mentally prep for some of these anyway…
Founded in 2016, Khaite is the epitome of downtown cool. It’s quiet luxury with a twist and is beloved by influencers and fashion editors alike. Unlike some designer brands who cover their collections with lairy logos, Khaite is far more subtle. Holstein’s designs look (and feel) luxurious yet they’re infused with relaxed ease. They’re still special enough to work for dressed up events and hit that sweet spot of right for right now, yet manage to transcend the trends. It’s fashion magic - although it will come at an investment-level price point.
The knits are particularly luscious and the denim has that perfect worn-in look that takes years to perfect. One of the key brands to major on the mesh shoes trend, Khaite were also one of the first designers to bring back cowboy boots with their now iconic Dallas style. They also did zebra print in 2019, waaaaaay before everyone else got in on the act.
You might just think this was just the musing of an Khaite-obsessed fashion director. But you'd only be half right as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Beyonce, Sofia Richie, Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner all agree with me that Khaite is beyond cool. And that little role-call is just a handful of names of celebrities wearing Khaite over the summer. (Katie Holmes is still a devoted fan too.)
So, who are the celebrities wearing Khaite? And what pieces do they wear?
It might be easier to list the celebrities who aren't wearing Khaite rn. Over summer, Khaite's sweet tops and excellent denim have had regular spots on our fyp but one stand-out look came from Issa Rae, who wore the Cedar fringe dress in a neutral shade on August 1st. That one is sold-out (you need to be fast!) but you can still find the black version in stock. Beyonce wore Khaite's signature sweetheart neckline knitted top to dinner in Brooklyn last month while Nicky Hilton and Rihanna have both carried the label's simple-shaped Olivia bag, which come covered in crystals.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's stealth wealth chic has seen her drawn to Khaite on many occasions (like the Herman jacket in brown python-embossed leather she posted on Instagram.) Sofia Richie, the other poster girl for quiet luxury, added a welcome pop of colour to an otherwise monochrome look in summer's hot pink Palermo satin pumps, which went on to be sell-outs.

Kendall wore the bejewelled Juniper dress in a recent ad campaign (there's a couple left in the sale at NET-A-PORTER still) and has also posted Khaite's black Nivea pleated maxi dress on Stories - while pal Hailey rocked the Jay strapless top with her denim cut-offs. Mrs Bieber also regularly slips the brand's Bambi leather belt through her belt-loops, too.

Boob tubes and baggy jeans are the uniform of the moment and f you're the kind of girl who doesn't want all eyes to be on your clothes (and not you) Khaite is the one. Although everyone else in the know will stan your serious fashion credentials.
Obviously any fashion buy in 2023 (and beyond) needs to be considered and have longevity in your wardrobe (for budgetary and sustainability reasons) so we love Khaite's considered quality and timeless designs, which will let them do just that.
