We love a trend revival. From a good pair of mom jeans to a slinky slip dress, we're all over 90s fashion. And thanks to the Beckham bob, 90s hair is also definitely having a moment again.
While bobs aren't going anywhere in general, more recent styles have us reminiscing over this iconic decade. And one of our more recent favourites has to be the 90s Beckham bob. A cult classic back in the day, it's sure to be everywhere this autumn.
The 90s Beckham bob cut differs from a classic bob in that it features a lot of different lengths and layers. Reminiscent of the boyfriend bob or equally trendy Italian bob, here layers are used to create impressive volume.

The blueprint for the 90s Beckham Bob is without a doubt Keira Knightley's iconic cut from Bend It Like Beckham, with countless fans emulating it because of its effortless combination of curved, long layers with gently rounded ends and shorter layers.
How to achieve the 90s Beckham bob
According to stylist Neale from London's Hershesons salon, it's integral that you start with the main component of the cut first.
"I start with the front area and shorten it first," explains Neale.
"Then I shorten the layers with a razor to bring maximum volume and lightness to the hair."
His main goal with this is "The hair should not be weighed down and the ends should be extremely fluffy, so you can style it easily."

How to style it
"The best way is to blow dry the hair over a round brush," says Neale.
Then, all you need is some texture cream to volumise the look even more. Simply distribute it evenly through your hair with your hands and gently tousle. Volume guaranteed!
Who suits the style best?
"You definitely have to be able to say goodbye to your old hair length," says Neale.
"The look only works in short." So if you're not 100% on whether a short cut is for you, look to our guide on the best hair length for different face shapes.
Broadly, the 90s Beckham bob can be made to work for different face shapes, but be sure to consult your hairdresser beforehand for their opinion.
